Protection Guide

Importance of Gloves Storage Condition:

While gloves made with natural rubbers offer long shelf-life of 3 to 5 years, materials begin to break down over time. Under ideal storage conditions, the process of deterioration accelerates about 3-6 months before the expiry date. However, the greatest contributing factors leading to accelerated deterioration of gloves’ integrity are transport incidences and storage conditions. Independent surveys showed that in over 82% of the cases storage and transportation recommendations were ignored, resulting in to compromised integrity of products. The financial loss due to this is estimated to be around USD 18.7M globally.

Degraded gloves can show discoloration, can lose elasticity, may turn brittle or soft.

Three quick checks to ensure optimal storage and transport conditions:

  • No direct exposure to sun or other light sources.
  • Storage in a cool, dry section of a regularly fumigated warehouse.
  • Handle with good care; gloves are medical devices.
